Crankmasters
currently has riders active in track and road events; and we conduct club races regulary in the season. We are always welcoming anyone interested in joining a competitive team in the Masters categories. We also have many cyclists in all age groups who just come out to cycle for fitness. In either case, anyone is welcome to come out and join with us for a ride, and learn about cycling in groups or practice riding in groups for competitive events.
Crankmasters is active in promoting cycling and is involved with developing training and coaching with the Alberta Bicycle Association. We have members available to offer advice
and ideas on fitness and competitive cycling who have many years of experience in cycling.
Club Rides, Membership and Insurance:
Please note that you MUST
be a club member or an ABA member to participate in a Crankmasters ride or race. This includes our Saturday and Sunday club rides and is for insurance reasons. We have been advised that insurance is void for ALL participants on the ride/race if a non-member is allowed to participate hence we must enforce this rule. See the Club Info page to renew your membership or to join CrankMasters. Membership is for the calendar year from Jan 1 to Dec 31 regardless of when in the year you join. Don’t forget to sign up for your volunteer commitment on the Volunteering page.We have 2 levels of club memberships:
The Primary level, 1st claim, is the standard membership that includes the annual insurance dues. This level of club membership allows the rider to participate in all Crankmasters rides and races. All Primary members are required to volunteer for two CrankMasters events in the current year. A $50 volunteer deposit is required at time of registration from all Primary Members. This will be refunded at the end of the year if your volunteer commitments have been met.
The Secondary level, 2nd claim, is for riders that belong to another club and have paid the annual ABA insurance dues through their ABA affiliated club. This level of club membership allows the rider to participate in all CCCC rides and races. Please ensure you indicate your affiliated club name on the membership form as this will be checked. The volunteer deposit is not required for secondary members but we do strongly encourage you
to volunteer your time to help.
