Series 3 Week 5 - Shepard CRIT Results

Photo Finish Shepard CRIT CAT 3

What an excellent evening to finish off the Wednesday Night Race series.   This was a beautiful course, fast, clean and no traffic.

Thanks to Steve Manning for Organizing this race and to the numerous volunteers listed below.  These races would not happen if we didn't have volunteers.

I will be publishing the results for Series 1, 2 and 3 as well as the final results.  Series and final racers who finish first, second or third win a cash prize.  Prizes will be awarded to winners at our Winter Gala event which will be held in February or March 2018.

Please post you comments below, and we'll see you at WNS 2018.

June 14 Springbank super crit!

Ahh, the old Springbank Super-Crit. At 2km's in length, it leaves tons of time for attacks to be made and matches to be burned. As always with this race, it is a very safe, wide course, with great pavement (the dirty pavement on the 3rd straight is much cleaner this year), huge corners, and grassy run outs. Sure to be a fast crit again this year!

Strava Route and map coming soon please check back

We will use the same schedule as last year:

6:30PM - “C Group” Starts. 20min + 1 lap
7:00PM - “B Group” Starts. 30min + 1 lap
7:40PM - “A Group” Starts. 35min + 1 lap

Parking: Plenty of parking around, between the Church, and the schools. The lot at Corner 1 is generally best, just watch out for traffic and riders if entering and exiting mid-race.

Volunteers: If you can volunteer please comment below

See you Wednesday!

Series 2 Week 1 - 22-22x-192 St-274 Ave

A beautiful night, 26C with a mild SE wind and 24 spirited racers with some sprint finishes made for a great night of racing. The results would indicate some movement both up and down the CATs - you know who you are!

Kudos to Joel Souchotte for reading the tech details carefully. He lost his A group when he headed West on 242 Ave the prescribed route, which was actually a typo and a nasty gravel section. He earns 10 points for being a good sport, testing a new route and following the written word!

Thanks to Stephanie for volunteering.

Week 3 is another Road Race. Click the link for full details.

WNS SERIES 1 - WEEK 2 RESULTS

After a big dump of snow this morning, it looked like no fun would be had, particularly when it started hailing at the turn around while setting up the course.   :{

But 13 hardy souls showed up and put in great rides this evening, and were rewarded with a dry ride on a new course.

Thanks to all the volunteers for coming out to help, and all the riders for entertaining us this evening!

WNS Series 1 - Week 2: Plummers Road Race

Weather Update:

Race is ON!

The rain has stopped, forecast is for cloudy and cool so bring your arm/leg warmers and ride hard. There are currently no signs of oncoming precipitation in the area.

Week 2 and we're hitting the roads for a gentle road race. I scoped out some new wickedly hilly courses, then I decided to take pity on everyone's early season legs and went with Plummers Road Race. We've raced on this road before, but this is a different twist on a scenic road.

I'll need 1-3 volunteers, let me (Callum) know if you can help out.

Tonight’s Race Cancelled!

By Glenn Miles 05/24/2017, 3:00pm MDT

The weathermen have been screaming at me to cancel for the last 2 days,

The weathermen have been screaming at me to cancel for the last 2 days, but I held off till now. If you’re disappointed, then stand outside for 60 seconds in the wind, sleet and rain just like I did. You’ll know it was the right move.

Hopefully tonight’s course won’t get washed out and will be on the schedule again soon.

So don’t let this indoor trainer opportunity escape. Dust it off, get on and ride!

Yours dryly,

Glenn Miles
